What happens if my computer or server goes offline during a backup?
The agent retries when connectivity returns. Repeated failures can be surfaced through the notification channels configured for your account.
How do I restore a backup?
Open the SaveState desktop app, choose the snapshot you need, and restore it to the original or a new location.
Can SaveState employees read my files?
No. Backup data is encrypted locally with AES-256-GCM before upload, and only the customer controls the decryption material.
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes. Basic includes a 14-day trial. Pro and Enterprise begin billing immediately.
Are uploads and restores included?
Yes. Uploads, restores, and the encrypted repository reads performed by the backup software are included at no extra charge. SaveState does not apply a routine monthly download quota or paid transfer overage.
How is storage usage calculated?
Your plan is measured from the actual encrypted repository space used after Kopia compression and deduplication. Identical data shared between restore points is stored once. The dashboard separately shows the original data protected and the space saved by optimization.
Where is my backup data stored?
Encrypted backup contents are stored in Backblaze B2’s EU Central region in Amsterdam. Backblaze states that data remains in the selected region unless the customer directs it to move.
How durable is the storage?
Backblaze B2 is designed for 99.999999999% annual data durability and publishes a 99.9% monthly availability service-level objective. Durability describes protection against data loss; availability describes whether the service can be reached at a given moment.
