SUPPORT

Get a backup moving again

Start with the common checks below. Include the desktop app version and approximate failure time when contacting support.

The agent cannot connect

Confirm that outbound HTTPS is allowed and that the API status endpoint is reachable from the protected machine.

A backup is taking too long

Check whether the selected source contains large temporary directories. Exclude caches and verify available upload bandwidth.

A restore or backup is locked

Check the subscription state and storage meter in the dashboard. Restores and encrypted repository traffic are free; a backup may pause when the optimized repository is full or while SaveState reclaims expired data.

A subscription expired

Every ended subscription enters three days of restore-only access. Restore needed data or start a new subscription before the deadline; the backup vault and related service data are permanently deleted when grace ends, while the login remains available.

The dashboard signed out

Sign in again. A 401 response invalidates the local session token; other API errors leave the session intact.

Still blocked?

Email support@savestate.dk with the account email, operating system, and a redacted error message.
